ABOUT THE BOOK

Judy Chatham

Sometimes we feel like Sunday looks more like Tuesday. In our family, Tuesday became ‘clinic day’ where we heard the work situation had changed, where we learned if chemotherapy was working, where we had the serious surgery, where we had the unexpected funeral, the family farm sale and more….

Clinic Day could bring a variety of activities, such as a spinal tap or a bone-marrow test, an evaluation of double vision or a myelogram. Plus, Tuesday could become ‘drip day’ for several hours of non-FDA-approved slow IV drip of a chemotherapy drug. But then, for us and thousands of others, Tuesday could bleed into every day of the week, making Sunday not feel like itself. And—’Thanking God for Friday’ isn’t likely to happen because a long weekend without access to medical care becomes more concerning than a long week with medical care.

That is why everyone in every situation, including you, dear reader, needs a strong faith for living the everyday life.
